You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Oversees appointment scheduling to ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.  Escorts patients to exam room within 15 minutes of arrival time as recorded in the EHR inbox.
  • Accurately performs and records in patient chart the height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, respiration and pulse.  Screens are completed with appropriate medical information from patient.
  • Assists patients for exam.  Instructs patients clearly in collection of samples and needed tests. 
  • Collects specimens within 10 minutes of being ordered by the Provider.  Performs vena punctures within a timely manner.
  • Prepares equipment and aids Providers during treatment, examination and testing of patients. 
  • Maintains and securely controls medical supplies and medication counts, with adequate supporting records.
  • Responds and refers patient related phone calls within an appropriate timeframe.  Calls in prescriptions as ordered by the Provider.
  • Completes referrals (for other Providers and insurance companies), hospital admissions and processes information and gives patients clear instructions.
  • Retrieves and accepts results of tests.  Prepares specimens and requisitions for lab work.
  • Performs lab tests as ordered by Provider following proper lab and office policies.  Reports STAT results immediately to Provider and/or patient.
  • Observes records and accurately and efficiently reports patient condition and reactions to medications and treatment to the Provider.
  • Uses proper injection techniques.  Maintains a sterile technique.
  • Documents all phone conversations regarding patients and recommendations.  Documents all prescriptions called to any pharmacy as ordered by the Provider.
  • Assures that the Provider has reviewed and signed all reports.
  • Documents all test results, making notes of abnormalities and STAT information.  Posts test and examination results in patient chart.
  • Assists and ensures all patient records and notes are filed in patient chart.
  • Responsible for the completion of the Nursing Procedure Checklist

  • Must be willing to float to other FHHMC practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules, etc. make it necessary to do so.  Assists in training staff in clinical duties and keeps abreast of changes in clinical recommendations/P & P and updates the team.  Makes recommendations to Supervisor or Regional Manager regarding equipment upgrades, repairs, etc.
  • Maintains cost efficient coordination and general/technical supervision over clinical personnel and the delivery of care.  Assumes responsibility and assigns staff to cover duties to ensure smooth work flow.  Reports potential problems to Supervisor and Regional Manager.
  • Meets with team members to direct clinical tasks in a manner necessary to facilitate a smooth work flow and provide effective patient care.
  • Completes special projects or performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Regional Manager, in a timely manner.


Qualifications

What You Will Need:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years Clinical Experience in physician practice
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program within one (1) year of eligibility
  • CMA or RMA
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
 
 
Job Summary:

The Clinical Team Leader, under the direction of the Practice Supervisor/Regional Manager, will perform a wide variety of professional patient care activities and accommodate services for the Providers and the Practice, following established standards, practices, policies and procedures.  Candidate will possess the following:  Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care; Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment; Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional clinical care to provide ongoing patient care; Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions; Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence; Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance; Demonstrated Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public; Ability to maintain quality control standards; Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
