Clinical Informatics Analyst I – Nursing Informatics – Courtland

Courtland seeks to hire Clinical Informatics Analyst who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:

Established in 1908, AdventHealth is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the country, caring for more than a million patients each year. The Courtland Office Plaza is conveniently located a few miles outside downtown Orlando and is home to over 700 employees that support our hospital system including the AdventHealth Home Care Service, Management Information Systems, Nursing Informatics and AdventHealth Healthcare System.

Work Hours/Shifts:

8am-5pm, nights occasionally, must be flexible; M-F, weekends occasionally, must be flexible

Job Summary:

The Informatics Clinician Analyst I assists in the development, implementation, education, maintenance, and coordination of nursing/clinical informatics’ projects. Supports clinical processes through the use of technology, primarily the electronic documentation system, the identification of best clinical practice using technology and the dissemination of education pertaining to the use and functionality of technology systems for clinicians. Assists with computer-related requests and serves as liaison between Nursing, MIS, and ancillary departments and participates in special projects as directed. Utilizes the hospital performance improvement process in achieving the goals of the clinical departments and the Nursing Informatics Department. Identifies opportunities for process improvement in support of Cerner initiative as it pertains to specified systems that help support our partners, team members, patients, and families. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Leadership skills, initiative, organization, and self-direction
  • Strong clinical background with the ability to map clinical processes, gather and analyze data, effectively present ideas and views to clinical audiences
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
  • Minimum of two years hospital clinical nursing or respiratory therapy experience
  • Computer experience
  • Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook (Preferred)
  • Healthcare Operations (Preferred)
  • Clinical Operations (Preferred)
  • Cerner (Preferred)
  • Information Technology (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (in a clinical field such as nursing or respiratory therapy) (Preferred)

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Current valid State of Florida license as registered professional nurse OR
  • Current valid State of Florida license as a registered respiratory therapist

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development, implementation, education, evaluation, and maintenance of designated Nursing/Clinical information applications and projects as assigned
  • Coordinates clinical informatics projects for assigned clinical areas to include: analysis of information, presentation of requests to pertinent committees, implementation, education, and evaluation of requests
  • Provides support and education to designated Nursing departments via campus rounds and/or application-related requests
  • Works collaboratively with MIS and Ancillary departments on computer-related projects, representing Nursing
  • Attends meetings defined by role, hospital, and at the request of the Director of Nursing Informatics
  • Provides on-call support and backup support for other team members based on assigned area of responsibility in a timely and effective manner by maintaining a AdventHealth approved device that enables quick accessibility and support
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions
  • Provides consultation in the areas of process redesign and evaluating clinical software products
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department
