We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position that will be based at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, Texas. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO provides financial input and data for the strategic policy making functions of the Board of Directors and the operating and strategic decision-making activities of the President/CEO and senior management.

It is required that the candidate serve the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ and demonstrate proficiency in the AHS executive leadership competencies.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Vice President/CFO is the senior finance position in the organization. The CFO provides the link and influence between the functional areas of financial management and decision making of general management. The perspective of the CFO must, however, be corporate and strategic and not just functional or technical. It is the overarching CFO responsibility to be certain that corporate strategies are financially viable and, that execution of strategies is not constrained by a lack of funds.
Job Duties:
  • Serve as the key financial resource on the executive management staff of the President/CEO
  • Promote financial discipline in the hospital and its subsidiaries
  • Assess the economic/financial impact of major business decisions on the organization with a bias for revenue growth and business development.
  • Design and implement (with approval of the President/CEO) the financial policies of the organization to maintain a financially strong and disciplined organization
  • Provide stewardship over the assets of the organization
  • Participate in strategy development by senior management
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Corporate Office external financial relationships (banks, creditors, rating agencies, bond insurance companies, investment bankers)
  • Participate in setting financial goals and objectives at Hospital and subsidiary levels in the organization.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Exemplify a Christian lifestyle and lead in living out the service standards
  • Strong commitment to AHS mission and ethics
  • Exceptional people management and leadership skills including motivating, communicating and conflict resolution
  • Highly advanced financial skills including budgeting, analyzing, and planning
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports and professional correspondence
  • Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically
  • Approaches work as an interconnected system. Ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps
  • Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting or related field; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a senior financial management position; 10 years senior financial management experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure, certification or registration
