Work Hours/Shift:
PRN
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Must maintain visual observation and/or audible contact with the hyperbaric control panel and patients in hyperbaric chambers at all times
  • If hyperbaric technicians leave the hyperbaric room/environment for any reason, they are responsible for obtaining coverage during their absence.
  • Both the requesting and covering employee are responsible for the observation and management of the hyperbaric environment and patient safety.
  • Observes hyperbaric systems and patient during the course of hyperbaric oxygen treatment at all times.  Unusual occurrences must be reported to the hyperbaric physician, hyperbaric safety director and patients' condition recorded in EMR.
  • Prepares the hyperbaric chamber equipment, medicine and materials needed for patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Operates, maintains and ensures the safety of the hyperbaric facility and all associated systems and equipment. Patient safety and facility safety are the primary goal. 

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Medical vocation.
  • One year Clinical hyperbaric experience and completion of a UHMS approved Hyperbaric Course.
  • Eligibility to obtain Certified status (CHT) within one year.
  • BLS
  • EMT/Paramedic, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, LPN, RN, Respiratory Therapist (preferred)
  • ACLS (preferred)
 
 
Job Summary:

The Hyperbaric Medical Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients appropriate to the level of his/her medical training as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment.  Assists in the delivery of patient care, maintains patient and environmental safety at all times.
