Cardiovascular Invasive Lab Supervisor – Cath Lab – Celebration

AdventHealth Celebration seeks to hire a Cardiovascular Invasive Lab Supervisor who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.



Facility Profile:

Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital, AdventHealth Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida. The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. All within a %22living laboratory%22 of groundbreaking, research-driven clinical solutions that integrate mind, body and spirit in the defeat of illness and disease.



Department Profile:

The Invasive and Noninvasive Diagnostic Cardiology Department consists of diagnostics, cath lab, and seven pre and post recovery rooms. Alongside cardiac catheterizations, we also perform cardioversions, tilt table tests, and transesophageal echocardiograms. Our team is comprised of Registered Nurses, Cardiovascular Technologists and Radiologic Technologists.



Work Hours/Shifts:

M-F 4/10; 7-4



Job Summary:

Supervises staff and department activities that provide service to all patients. Responsible for the efficiency, effectiveness and utilization of the procedural area, staff and equipment. Maintains a smooth and cost effective patient flow. Serves as administrative liaison to patients and physicians. Accountable for tracking patient charges and maintaining various records of documentation. Responsible for oversight of inventory management and supplies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.



Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a supportive manner to patients, staff, and physicians
  • Ability to set and change priorities frequently
  • Computer skills in word processing and email, such as, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of PACS, Heartlab, Apollo and other associated systems (Preferred)
  • Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, Registered Nurse, or Respiratory Therapist
  • Coordinator or supervisory experience
  • Managerial experience (Preferred)
  • Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cardiopulmonary or Healthcare Management, or a related field (Preferred)



Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • Must possess and maintain one of the following:
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R))
  • Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
  • Specialty certification as defined by individual cost center (Preferred)



Job Responsibilities:

  • Based on regulatory allowable practices at each specially licensed campus facility, proficiently performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a diagnostic or therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice or performs effectively in all three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in an electrophysiology laboratory based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals scope of practice.
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates department activities in the most effective way. Supports and enforces policy and procedure. Ensures safety of self, staff, physicians and patients. Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide the best possible care to the patient. Receives assignments, instructions, and guidance from Manager or Director and is compliant with special requests as situations dictate.
  • Practices the principles of universal body substance isolation and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis. Continually deliver quality diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional patient care services. Practices and enforces safety guidelines. Performs Quality Control as needed.
  • Supports and assists with data collection for process improvement while understanding the department performance trends and established standards. Contributes and encourages others to contribute toward process improvement by serving on PI teams as assigned. Participates in department surveys and patient satisfaction initiatives. Utilizes patient service recovery resources when appropriate.
  • Keeps Manager or Director informed and seeks assistance and direction from appropriate individuals when confronted with unfamiliar procedures and techniques, before implementing them, to ensure deliverance of safe and effective patient care. Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care. Maintains a professional relationship with all customers.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of employees, patients, administration, and medical staff information with no infractions. Communicates with patients and family members appropriate to age and instructs them in techniques to optimize their care in the hospital, as well as after discharge.
  • Assists Manager or Director in meeting department budgetary goals. Assists Manager or Director in creating budget plans for respective areas of responsibility. Effectively recruits and oversees the training and orientation of new employees.
  • Ensures appropriate daily and on-call staffing, managing lab labor expenses in accordance with department budget. Collaborates with campuses as needed to assist with resource needs. Adjusts/resolves complaints, concerns, and problems of supervised employees regarding work assignment, hours of work, overtime scheduling, and other work-related issues.
  • Exhibits desire to learn and upgrade clinical and leadership skills. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit.
  • May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined in AHCA rule 59A-7.034, must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of AdventHealth non-waived Point of Care training.
