Work Hours/Shift:
Monday – Friday

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Facilitates and leads processes to achieve Advanced Cardiovascular Accreditations defined by the organization and Service Line Leadership.
  • Facilitates and leads initiatives to improve cardiovascular clinical outcomes defined by the organization and service line leadership.
  • Collaborates with the CV Quality team, Physician leaders, and Executive Director and Influences change in practice improving quality metrics and processes, which are evidence based.
  • Facilitates and leads the Cardiovascular Quality Improvement Teams including CV QIT, HF QIT and OH QIT.
  • Facilitates and participates in leading education of the cardiovascular population.
  • Facilitates and participates in the education and transformation of care of the Open Heart and Heart Failure patient populations and other populations as defined.
  • Identifies improvement practice opportunities in cardiovascular care throughout continuum
  • Facilitates process efficiencies and best practices as it relates to the treatment of the ACS population 
  • Remains knowledgeable and acts as a resource in the latest cardiovascular technologies, standards of care, evidence-based practices, therapies, and research.
  • Serves as a clinical resource to acute care cardiovascular nursing staff including Cardiac Cath Lab, Non-invasive Cardiology, PCVU, CCU, ICU, and HNVU, HF clinic and office practices.  

What You Will Need:
  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • Kansas Licensure as Advance Practice Nurse
  • ACLS Through The American Heart Association
  • BLS Through The American Heart Association
  • 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Advance Practice Registered Nurse/Clinical Specialist will function as a Specialty APRN ad defined in the APRN/NP job description as an advance practice professional nurse licensed in Kansas to function in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health care professionals in the delivery of primary health care services and also serve as a Clinical Specialist founded upon the role of a Advance Practice Registered Nurse a Master (s) or Doctorate in Nursing.

In addition to the professional duties of the CV APRN, this role also uses clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, collaboration, systems thinking, research and transformational leadership to positively impact the outcomes of cardiovascular patient populations.  The position also serves as consultant, collaborator, educator, researcher, innovator and coach to facilitate cardiovascular patient care outcomes, process improvement initiatives and staff development.  His or her influence should extend across the cardiovascular continuum of care, the cardiovascular service line, department, facility, community, organizational, and national levels to contribute to cardiovascular quality outcomes.
