Surgical Physician Assistant, PA-C or APRN with First Assist Certification–
Breast Surgery (Full Time Position)
Lisa Minton, MD is board certified in general surgery with a specialty in breast care. She combines 20 years of clinical expertise and the most current surgical techniques with a passion to help patients return to good health and lead full, active lifestyles. She received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her residency at Louisiana State University-affiliated hospitals. She is a founding physician of the Center for Surgical Care.
Devina McCray, MD, is a breast surgical oncologist who is board-certified in General Surgery. She specializes in the evaluation, surgery, treatment of benign and malignant breast disease. Her areas of surgical expertise include excisional biopsy, breast conservation, sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary node dissection, mastectomy (simple, skin sparing, and nipple sparing), oncoplasty, and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT).
General Summary:
The PA-C or APRN RNFA, under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
  • Performing physical examinations of General and Breast Surgery patients in the clinic and hospital setting including, but not limited to: new patient visits, pre; intra and post-operative
  • Assists surgeons in the Operating Room, Case examples: Breast Cancer Surgery, Mastectomy, Lumpectomy, Appendectomy, Laparoscopic Surgery
  • Enables continuity of care by managing patient care in pre-, intra- and post-operative settings
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, Ultrasound etc
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Candidate must be able to pass a third party background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday – Call only required as needed when physician is unable to take call
  • Hospitals Covered: Position will cover cases at AH Celebration and AH Orlando
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work variable, flexible shifts as some evening and/or weekend hours may be required
Required Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
Preferred Education/Experience:
Previous general surgery and or OR first assist experience
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
Current, valid Florida Physician Assistant license
NCCPA Certification required
