You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for oversight of all aspects of outpatient practice operations for assigned service lines and/or practices and supporting the Directors and managers in assigned practices.
  • Involved in, or may drive, strategic planning around assigned service lines or practices.
  • Develop and work with division service line leaders to ensure communication and processes flow between the hospitals and AHMG
  • Understands and applies management information, concepts and principles necessary to address a broad range of medical practice tasks in the following areas:  Financial Management, planning and marketing, risk management, business and clinical operations.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations and courses of action for improvement for AHMG processes.
  • Is the key driver in managing the policy and procedure process within AHMG. The AVP may be on the Finance and Operations subcommittee of the Network Operating Council (physician governance) or other relevant workgroup that drives policy and operational consistency.
  • Supports employee engagement and is accountable for Press Ganey survey results and action plans for improvement for assigned service lines and practices

What You Will Need:


    • Master’s degree in health administration, business administration, other relevant field or equivalent experience.
    • Ten years’ experience in medical group practice environment.
    • Proficient experience in compliant coding guidelines, reimbursement procedures, medical records management and effective practice operations.
    • Practical knowledge and experience in working with practice management software systems with the ability to direct workflow in order to optimize operations.
    • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
    • Experience with budgetary finance and accounting skills with regards to practice management and operations.
Job Summary:

Executive with a track record of performance and performance improvement.  Demonstrated effectiveness as a leader, trainer, and coach.   Has successful experience with communication, negotiation and dialogue. Possesses a full understanding of what makes practices successful.  The AVP has distinct accountability for the performance of assigned services lines or group of practices.  Works to create an environment of efficient practice operations in cooperation with the appropriate support systems to provide timely and accurate information as needed.  Has a demonstrated background in positive working relationships with physicians and advance practice providers. Prior experience with medical practice financial administration and revenue cycle management.

The AVP will work closely with medical directors of the service lines, practice operations directors, hospital leadership associated with the service lines and the physician group CMO. The AVP supports the implementation of the market and system strategic plans.  Assists with the development of new clinical services.  Responsible for ensuring the consistent and appropriate interpretation, evaluation and application of the policies and procedures as established by Florida Hospital.  Promotes and develops effective and efficient communication in order to promote a positive work environment optimal operational workflow, and promotes effective customer service strategies.  Supports the optimal operational workflow of assigned practices through cooperation, collaboration, communication, and flexibility with support departments on their behalf.
