You Will Be Responsible For:

In collaboration with the Nurse Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for:

Customer Service: 

  1. Nurse Leader rounding for patient satisfaction
  2. Patient experience data review for performance improvement
  3. Evaluating patient/employee interaction and coaches staff on opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction
  4. Service recovery and follow-up with employees

Financial Management

  1. Completes departmental payroll
  2. Assists Director with departmental financial review
  3. Reviews productivity reports and adjusts staffing as needed
  4. Communication with Employees
  5. Assists with conducting departmental meetings.


Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Previous two (2) years nursing management experience
  • Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills
  • Three years’ experience in acute patient care
  • BSN or higher degree obtained or in progress with completion anticipated within 6 months of hire.
Job Summary:

In collaboration with the Nurse Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for all the following duties and responsibilities.  These include, but are not limited to customer service, financial management, regulatory compliance, human resource processes, staff competency, performance improvement, policy/procedure development and compliance, and regular communication with department staff.  Under the direction of the Nurse Director, the Assistant Director provides leadership and oversight with all unit functions and patient care issues on a day-to-day basis.  Duties and responsibility may occur outside of typical office hours.
