Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the areas of PDO and all other absence management programs within AHS
  • Provide ongoing guidance to internal team members on process and policy related absence management issues; serve as a first point of escalation for complex cases
  • Oversee the timely resolution of issues that require research and troubleshooting by the HRIS team
  • Research and complete activities to support the accurate set-up of PLD and PDO arrangements for acquisitions
  • Stay abreast of call trends related to Absence Management and report facility or company-wide issues to management; make recommendations on how to improve the overall quality of service as it related to absence management
  • Analyze and reconcile PDO transactions in conjunction with Payroll, Accounting and HRIS teams
  • Analyze PDO discrepancies involving PDO balances and sick leave balances
  • Oversee the processing of PDO system adjustments, including inter-company transfers, pay-outs, forfeitures, donations and cash-outs
  • Ensure AHS compliance with HIPAA, maintaining employee privacy where appropriate, including confidentiality and protection of sensitive information
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or the equivalent in education and/or related experience
  • Three years’ experience in a Human Resources team environment
  • Human Capital Management (HCM) experience, specifically PeopleSoft
  • Knowledge and understanding of general Human Resources administration, including common state and federal regulations surrounding FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations
 
Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Absence Management (PDO) is an individual contributor supporting Adventist Health System’s employee benefits administration functions. The Sr. Specialist acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in the Paid Days Off programs, as well as other paid leave programs offered by AHS to its employees. The Sr. Specialist oversees the research and resolution of paid time off errors and issues, completes complex calculations to facilitate inter-company transfers, PDO donations, cash-outs, pay-outs, other adjustments and forfeitures. The Sr. Specialist works closely with the Payroll Department to reconcile PDO transactions impacting biweekly payroll, ensuring paychecks are accurately reflecting all paid leave updates. The Sr. Specialist is responsible for staying up to date on applicable legal and regulatory changes, updates to internal policy and processes, and recommending new system functionality.
