FT Days

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervisors daily operations of department
o Developments and updates monthly staff schedules and posts a minimum of 4 weeks in advance (acute and post-acute facilities)
o Recommend staffing levels to meet patient needs and provide adequate coverage
• Participates in the hiring process for department.  Completes performance evaluations timely and is involved in employee counseling, coaching and termination per policy.  Provides orientation for new employees and ensures compliance with department policy and procedure. Maintains high levels of employee engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning. Ability to appropriately handle stress and interact with others
• Troubleshoots and addresses questions from staff and others in completing daily activities, redirects or resolves issues timely. Offers suggestions to improve services and viable solutions to resolve problems. Follows up with Manager as appropriate if pattern or procedural change is identified.
• Contributes to departmental policy and procedural revisions. Provides on-going training on equipment and procedural changes.
• Responsible for the program's compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation
• Participates in development of budget and operates within plan
• Contributes to Performance Improvement Plan
• Publicly supports direction and vision of the organization and service line.


• Education, training and in-services:
o Provided to patients and families for safety awareness, adaptive equipment, home exercise program, and diagnosis specific information.
o May be provided to health care professionals for body mechanics, mobility training, ergonomics, and information on the role and profession of a therapist.
o May be provided for clinical instruction and mentoring to internship students.  (Applies only to those with at least one year of experience).
o May be provided to orient rehabilitation personnel new to the site.
• Maintains clinical competency and proper licensure in the State of Florida.
• Establishes professional goals in collaboration with manager annually.
• Demonstrates clinical competency as follows:
o Conducts patient assessments, develops a treatment plan, and provides skilled intervention to the patient in accordance with the state practice act, insurance guidelines/requirements and accreditation agency requirements.
o Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the age of the patient served, and maintains a knowledge of growth and development with an understanding of the range of treatment by diagnosis needed by these patients:
o Neonate (acute)
o Child (outpatient)
o Adolescent (outpatient)
o Adult
o Geriatric
o Documents in the patient's medical record in accordance with insurance guidelines/requirements and acceptable practice act standards and posts charges accordingly.
o Communicates patient information appropriately with other healthcare professionals to facilitate transdisciplinary continuity of care and discharge.
• Demonstrates compliance with action plan to remediate deficiencies in performance identified by manager.
• Identifies continuing educational opportunities for resolution of knowledge deficits and / or for professional growth.
• Follows department policies for cleaning of therapeutic equipment and maintaining equipment/supply inventory.
• Required to float to other departments (acute, sub-acute, outpatient) and other sites within Florida Hospital—West Region as needed.
• Assists with establishing a marketing plan to grow the service line and awareness within the community.
• Required to perform other duties as assigned or needed
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Computer skills required. 
• Good communication skills required.
• Proven leadership and organizational skills required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
• Two or more years of Supervisor/leadership experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• At minimum, Bachelors Degree in Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy required
• At least two (2) years clinical experience required. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree preferred.


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• Current Florida State Licensure required.
• Must retain a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, as driving between facilities is a requirement of this position. 
• American Heart Association BLS required
