Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time

You Will Be Responsible For:

Schedules future procedures, enters appointment date, time and all required information into computerized scheduler.

Obtains and enters new patient demographics into scheduling software system.

If order is incomplete, requests completed order is re-faxed with required information.

Books, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments as needed.

Timely responds to physician office/patient request for scheduling all procedures.

Assist with confirmation calls if needed.


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Medical Terminology required.

Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment required.

Excellence in phone etiquette/customer service required.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Medical Assistant and/or Radiology experience preferred.

Scheduling experience preferred.

Job Summary:

Schedules all hospital procedures (diagnostic imaging, cardiology, respiratory therapy, etc.) in an accurate and timely manner utilizing the current scheduling software system.  Ensures orders are obtained on all procedures requiring them.  Maintains wait times within the designated standards for incoming calls to schedule appointments at our facility.

Verifies all benefits and obtain authorizations required through patient’s insurance company either by telephone, website, physician’s office, or any other method deemed appropriate.  Directly communicates with patients by telephone to verify demographics and insurance information.  Ensures all financial obligations are communicated to patients clearly, updated on account, and detailed to ensure expeditious processing of all patient accounts at time of visit.  Appropriately collects and/or sets payment arrangements with patients or their representative
