Physician Network Relations Specialist - CentraHealth Network - Maitland

Florida Hospital seeks to hire a Physician Network Relations Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide Advent Health Physician Network (AHPN) subject matter expertise, consultation and education to network providers (market/region dependent) by establishing and maintaining a strong relationship with the provider and practice. Advent Health Physician Network Relations Specialists are expected to make regular visits to provider practice offices, with the intent to advise and educate on a wide variety of topics (examples include population health management strategies and programs, clinical integration, incentive program(s), provider web site, and Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) and provider network policies and procedures.). The Advent Health Physician Network Relations Specialist (AHPN Relations Specialist) is a highly strategic role within AHPN, designed to provide value to the network provider and practice through expertise, consultation, change management, and provider engagement. The Relations Specialist is the relationship manager for the practice and exists to help simplify the provider’s experience with the Provider Network and plans while working to identify and address improvement opportunities. As part of the AHPN Team, the Relations Specialist will be responsible for executing plans and delivering key messages to providers and office staff. This position is field-based with the majority of time spent in provider offices. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated excellent relationship management skills and ability to work well with others using tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to implement initiatives in a strategic manner with minimal supervision, multi-task, and take direction in a matrixed work environment.
  • Strong skills for using various information systems tools to identify performance improvement opportunities, communicate these opportunities to providers and track improvements
  • Ability to handle difficult and complicated situations and maintain professionalism
  • Fundamental knowledge of marketing and sales

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Population Health initiatives and the triple-aim - to include value-based performance incentives for providers
  • Knowledge of CMS’ Risk Adjustment model
  • Knowledge of hospital and provider (multi-specialty group, IPA or PHO) operations and services impacted by managed care and health care reform
  • Knowledge of health plan/claims-related processes (Clinical Procedural (CPT) coding knowledge a plus)
  • 3+ years’ experience in performance improvement, operations, marketing or relevant physician/hospital/managed care environment.
  • Master of Business Administration degree or Master of Healthcare Administration degree

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Health Science or comparable, relevant experience
  • Florida Class “E” driver’s license and driving record in accordance with FH policy. Valid auto insurance.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred:

  • Registered nurse, respiratory therapist, or other allied health professional credential highly preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uses knowledge to help connect key concepts and expectations that is simple for providers to relate to. Regular rounding to communicate messages on behalf of the AHPN about the value of solutions, strategies, performance/incentive models, policies, procedures and to timely issue resolution.
  • Responds quickly to issues identified by physicians, skillfully communicating to the appropriate leader(s), and responds back to the physician.
  • Executes strategic plans/strategies and understands quality measures. Works with clinically integrated network of physicians identified to facilitate introductions to AHPN leadership. Successful in securing face-to-face meetings with physicians and key decision-makers in the practice while working alongside CHN counterparts.
  • On boarding providers for Provider Networks to ensure provider is informed and engaged related to essential information.
  • Facilitates practice change management regarding emerging trends related to AHPN initiatives, reimbursement models, patient satisfaction, customer outreach, panel growth, and provider performance with quality and efficiency metrics. The Relations Specialist should be an asset to their practices by providing important information and recommended enhancements to help ensure success in the value-based healthcare environment.
  • Is persistent in overcoming objections, while identifying and following through with opportunities. Assist with the development, distributes, and communication of key events and information as directed by AHPN leadership while working alongside CHN counterparts.
  • Responsible for tracking, measuring, analyzing, and reporting on provider contacts, updating provider demographics, validating provider contact information, and reporting issues in the designated provider reporting tool. Tracks visits in Salesforce weekly.
  • Fully understands the provider and ancillary makeup of the provider network in order to provide relevant feedback and intel related to potential needs.
  • Works seamlessly, effectively, and in harmony with all internal teams including, but not limited to, AHPN credentialing, provider resolution center, quality and care integration, provider engagement education, analytics, and finance to ensure integrated operations that result in a superior consumer experience for the provider.
  • Responsible for maintaining operational knowledge of HealtheIntent and other business intelligence tools and assisting providers with understanding and utilization of such tools and engaging other AHPN resources/teams as needed.
