PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Physical Therapist will practice within the Scope of Standards of Physical Therapy practice:
• Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospitals Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organizations Performance Excellence Program.
• Evaluation: Collection of comprehensive data pertinent to the patients health or situation; Performs consults as indicated from database collection.
• Re-Evaluation: Performs assessments as indicated due to changes in patients medical condition that will alter the PT treatment plan previously determined.
• Reassessments: Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
• Treatment Plan: Analyzes the assessment data to determine course of treatment.
• Goal Setting: Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
• Planning: The patients plan of care is developed to attain expected outcomes.
• Implementation: Implements the identified plan of care.
• Supervision of and Collaboration with Physical Therapy Assistants: In order to implement the plan of care and determine its effectiveness, identify changes with patients condition that may alter the plan of care, and assist with methodology of treatments.
• Teaches, directs and instructs PT Technician: In order to promote safety and carry out an effective treatment method, the Physical Therapist must be able to provide timely, proper, effective instructions to the PT Technician so they can provide better support wherever necessary.
• Training: Effectively educate and train patients, caregivers, and team members, when necessary.
• Mentorship: Effectively mentor Physical Therapy and/or Physical Therapy Assistant Students (optional).

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 
The Physical Therapist must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of skills and abilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of principles of medical physical therapy for therapeutic diagnosis and treatment.
• Ability to communicate in written, verbal and electronic formats with patients, staff, physicians, nurses and administrators in an effective, accurate and timely manner.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of others.
• Ability to initiate and promote innovation and change.
• Ability to establish collaborative alliances and promote teamwork.
• Ability to establish, implement and/or update Plan of Care.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with a specific degree/major in Physical Therapy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• At least 3 years of acute care hospital experience required

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• Current Florida Physical Therapy license
• Current BLS from American Heart Association
