Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time- Night shift
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Prepares immediately needed medications for dispensing under the direction of a pharmacist.
  • Promptly removes labels from printers and follows through to completion of dispensing.
  • Accurately retrieves, labels and initials all medications.
  • Stages all medications for final quality check by pharmacist.
  • Delivers medications accurately and promptly to patient location areas.
  • Accurately sorts medications into correct staging locations for subsequent delivery.

What You Will Need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP) Technician license is required
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) (preferred)
Job Summary:

Pharmacy technicians are support staff to the pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, and pharmacy director.  Pharmacy technicians assist in drug inventory management, drug selection, emergency drug compilations, and medication area inspections for maintenance of drug storage requirements and the integrity of dosage forms.   Pharmacy technicians will demonstrate their competency in brand-generic concepts, sterile compounding, and bulk dosage repackaging.  Pharmacy technicians will perform routine distributions to medication areas and also participate in quarterly in-services on look-alike-sound-alike medications, proper use of automated dispensing machines, inventory removal of expired medications and supportive medication reconciliation procedures.
