Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time/Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate patient information.
  • Prepare medications for dispensing under direct supervision of the Pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, and mixing medication, including bulk compounding.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders (with professional guidance from the Pharmacist), verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Resolve third party rejection issues promptly for claim resolution.
  • Prepare insurance claim forms.
  • Service drop off/pick up window and operate point of sale system to assist customers and collect method of payment.

What You Will Need:
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Good Computer skills
  • Associate or undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate skill in aseptic technique.
  • Understanding of insurance and third-party billing procedures.
  • Understanding of inventory management techniques preferred.
Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician is a certified and registered, licensed trained assistant to the Pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in providing medications and other health care products to Adventist Health patients and employees. He or she performs various drug distributive, record-keeping, and accountability functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. All work performed by the Pharmacy Technician is completed under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician performs routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medications as well as administrative duties to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.

Position responsibilities of the PIC at AdventHealth Sebring require access to protected patient information (PHI). Staff team members will be accountable for appropriate use of the record and compliance with all confidentiality and security policies and procedures related to use, access, and disclosure of PHI.
