Work Hours/Shift:
Per Diem, Days and Overnights
 
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Project a positive and helpful demeanor while working with patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner when answering calls.
  • Demonstrates skill and proficiency when executing overhead announcements.
  • Prompt forwarding of all calls, when necessary, to proper departments, patient rooms or staff.
  • Thoroughly understand and respond to all codes/alarm systems.
  • Maintaining (updates) all "ON CALL" lists for staff when notifies of changes.
  • Afterhours contact of key personnel.
  • Maintaining an "operational" log of all "unusual" activities/requests/issues.
  • Clerical duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Guidelines as set forth in FHW Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Basic understanding of numerous computer systems.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School graduate or equivalent with GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in switchboard operations.
 
Job Summary:

Skill listener, to answer switchboard/phone calls and to transfer to the precise locations. Responding to all codes/alarms systems. Maintains and updates On-Call list for staff when notified of changes; also to call the on-call staff when needed.
