You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Manages daily operations of the FHMMC off-site Imaging services at FHI and POP in a cost-effective, efficient manner assuring that staff and physicians provide high quality care in a courteous and friendly atmosphere.

•         Assures patient care is monitored and appropriately documented, order completion, patient education, and referral for follow-up care, both in the medical records and logs, as indicated. Assures medical records are maintained with respect to patient confidentiality, security and completeness.

•         Schedules and performs interviews for approved Radiology positions, making recommendations for hiring as needed. Participates in the recruitment, responsible for selection of employees, orientation, evaluation and termination of personnel.  

•         Clinical Staff Coordination:

•         Coordinates the orientation schedule of new employees in Imaging to ensure they have proper training for hospital equipment, Cerner RadNet, PACS and department processes.

•         Documents performance issues. Assists employees in an understanding of performance standards and provides employees with specific, timely, and constructive feedback.

•         Provides input and other disciplinary action in consultation with the Executive Director. May initiate and perform disciplinary action, in absence of Executive Director by consulting with Human Resources. Utilizes progressive counseling to develop or discipline employees as necessary.

•         Assures personnel are scheduled to provide adequate coverage during all hours of operation using flexible staffing when appropriate in order to meet productivity standards. Works with Scheduling to insure availability and quality of service.

•         Assures accurate time and attendance records are kept and reported in a timely manner.

•         Responsible for personnel management, maintaining files as needed for employee training files, attendance records and certifications.

•         Performs introductory and annual performance evaluations

•         Equipment and Education:

•         Provides for a safe and complete environment for the delivery of patient care.  Deficiencies are promptly corrected through service calls and other appropriate channels.  Coordinates equipment service and maintenance with vendors or clinical engineering.

•         Responsible for the development and maintenance of department policy and procedures.

•         Serves as a resource for performance improvement opportunities, including development and implementation. This includes LEAN projects within Imaging and Customer Service projects.

•         Ensure that PET/CT and mammography QA programs are maintained and performed in accordance with FDA, DOH and MQSA regulations.

•         Responsible for Department Education of Patient Safety, MRI Safety, Radiation Safety, Clinical outcomes, ICARE, SHARE, Performance Improvement processes, Cerner RadNet, and TJC.

•         Monitors Safety Culture Education and Awareness.

•         Clinical Staff Excellence:

•         Ensure staff members are educated, updated, trained and competent on equipment. Encourage staff to sit for an advanced Registry examination, cross train into other modalities, and support the staff in these endeavors with education, reference material and training, as able.

•         Performs radiographic imaging procedures as needed to help expedite patient flow.

•         Evaluate staff on a daily basis to ensure that they are providing Excellent Customer Service and supporting a favorable Patient Experience.

•         Organizes monthly departmental meetings with technologists, registrars and Executive Director of Imaging.

•         Monitor CPA and daily Charge Reconciliation for appropriate billing of procedures, corrects and credits exams that are ordered or charged incorrectly. 

•         Maintains a database for Procedural Processes and Protocols for Imaging for all modalities, including worksheets, consents, education and references.

•         Ensure Image Quality Assurance program of staff members by evaluating exams on PACS that are flagged by Radiologist as a QA issue, educate staff and write corrective actions as needed. Will review the Repeat/Reject Analysis reports from PACS and assures quality assurance and performance indicators are implemented on an ongoing basis.

•         Imaging Services Compliances and Accreditations:

•         Lead and assist the departments in the ACR Accreditation process.

•         Responsible for Imaging Services compliance with accrediting agencies including but not limited to TJC, FDA, State of Florida (HRS) and ACR.

•         As needed, meet with representatives of varies regulatory agencies as needed for department inspection and licensure.

•         Maintains dosimetry records as required by State Regulations. Changes, orders and distributes film badges, posting and distributing readings as required, or assigns designee. Ensures an environment of radiation safety is maintained.

•         Surveys customers’ satisfaction as contained in the Customer Service Pledge and initiates appropriate follow-up action.

•         Maintains membership in hospital and community committees. Actively participates on hospital committees to add value to services provided in alignment with the goals of organization. This may include committees for The Joint Commission, radiation safety, NAPBC, etc.

•         Departmental:

•         Encourage and support Interdepartmental Communication and process development.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

•         Must have five years’ experience in Radiology with at least two years of supervisory experience preferred.

•         BLS required

•         Current ARRT certification (with additional advanced modality certification in CT or MRI preferred) and Florida General Radiographer license required.


Job Summary:


Supervised directly by the Executive Director of Imaging. Daily operational management of the offsite outpatient imaging facilities of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. This includes but is not limited to clinical services at FHI, Port Orange Pavilion, NSHP and business office (FHI only) leadership, physician relations and marketing.
