You Will Be Responsible For:

•         Connects multi-skilled workers to the Purpose, Vision and Mission of THH;

•         Create an environment that takes care of the THH multi-skilled workers both personally and professionally;

•         Develops and trains multi-skilled workers and uses them in accordance with their capabilities;

Qualifications

What You Will Need: 

•    Successful completion of Monitor/Telemetry Course (Monitor Tech class).

•    High school diploma or equivalent.

•    Minimum of 6 months experience as a monitor tech

•    Minimum of 6 months experience as a unit secretary

•    Minimum of 12 months experience of direct patient care in an acute care (hospital) environment

•    Certified Nurses Aid

•    BLS from the AHA.

•    Associates Degree (preferred)

•    6-12 months of leadership experience (preferred)

Job Summary:

All multi-skilled workers of assigned department(s) will report up to the tech Supervisor of that dept. Responsible for multi-skilled workers’ development and coordination, for assigned department(s), including orientation and training, scheduling, education, time and attendance, employee engagement and specific processes as defined by the Nurse Manager or Director.  Performs general clerical duties and specific non-professional services under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse/RN, to expedite the efficient functioning of the nursing unit consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the nursing department and hospital administration. Observes the telemetry monitors for a designated time frame, under the supervision of Charge Nurse/RN, in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Must be able to recognize and document basic arrhythmias. Must be able to operate the telemetry equipment, call light system and recognize emergency alarms and respond appropriately. Must be able to communicate with doctors, patients, staff, other nurses and medical personnel. Perform a variety of specific patient care activities, consistent with goals, philosophy, policies, standards and guidelines of the nursing department and the hospital. Must be able to function independently and efficiently as a member of the hospital team. Responsible for multi-skilled worker training and validation of bedside skills, charting, hourly visits and bedside hand-over. Will oversee the consistency of the Standard of Behavior and performance of multi-skilled workers and will keep nurse manager informed of their performance.
