Work Hours/Shift

Per Diem/Days

You will be responsible for:

  • Supports the administration of the radiation safety program, including compliance with all regulatory/certification agencies, staff training, and supervision of radioactive source ordering/handling/waste removal/disposal; may provide annual radiation safety in-service to staff.
  • Assists in performance of QA on linear accelerators, simulators, HDR unit and any other treatment devices.
  • Performs weekly chart reviews of Radiation Oncology treatment plans under director of Chief MP.
  • Performs dosimetry calculations for external beam, brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy, including in-vivo dosimetry and measurement system.
  • Provides medical physicist consultation to physicians, staff and patients as needed.
  • Assists dosimetry staff in the performance of treatment planning, providing coverage when needed.
  • Assists in the design and fabrication of treatment aids and treatment beam modifiers.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum of MS in Medical Physics from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical radiation therapy physics experience.
  • State of Florida Therapeutic Medical Physics license.
  • ABR or ABMP certification in therapeutic medical physics
  • BLS from American Heart Association

Job Summary:

The Medical Physicist, under the direction of the Chief Medical Physicist, works in consultation with Radiation Oncologists to provide radiation therapy to the Oncology patients.  The Medical Physicist assists the physics and dosimetry sections of Radiation Oncology, including treatment planning and monitoring radiation output employed in the patient treatments.
