Work Hours/Shift:

M-F 7:30a-4:00p but hours may fluctuate

You will be responsible for:
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients, utilizing established guidelines.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, procedures and treatments.
  • Administer vital signs and records results.
  • Schedules patients for follow up or consultation visits.
  • Recognizes and responds to emergencies.
  • Can serve as scribe for attending physician(s).

What you will need:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a vocational or other technical school with training or apprenticeship.
  • Well integrated level of technical knowledge and education - oncology experience highly desired.
  • Certification or registration required from one of the following:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • American Medical Technologist (AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcare Association (NHA)
    • American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
  • BLS from American Heart Association

Job Summary:

Assists the physician in providing medical care to patients of various ages according to the policy of individual practice, in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies and procedures.  Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.  Demonstrates effective use and support of the Customer and Superior Service Standards, within the hospital and practice settings.
