Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Oversees the patient tray services and nursing pantry bulk nourishments for FH Oceanside.

  • Prepares attractive and palatable food for patients, Café and catering in quantities dictated by the menu and food production sheets.

  • Participate in set up, serving and cleanup of food services for patients, Café and catering.

  • Participate in creating menus, menu items, recipes, productions sheets.

  • Maintains sanitary conditions of floors, stove, worktables and other equipment used in the performance of duties; records temperatures appropriately following all HACCP Guidelines.

  • Follows culinary production records in the preparation of patients and retail food production.

  • Cooks small batches to ensure quality and temperature of food.  

  • Assists in putting up stock and maintains rotation of stock, keeps storage areas organized and sanitary, with all foods labeled and dated.

  • Assists Coordinator with food ordering with main vendors.


Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum 3 years cooking experience preferably in a lead cook or higher position in a healthcare or retail food service operation.
  • High School diploma required. 

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the FANS Coordinator, the lead cook is responsible for preparing of food in accordance with established recipes, dietary compliance and sanitation regulations.  The Lead Cook will ensure that patient tray services, nursing pantry bulk nourishments, The Ocean Breeze Café food and services are performed efficiently and effectively.  The Lead Cook will supervise the FANS operation in the absence of the FANS Coordinator.
