Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Business Knowledge - Build, develop, and grow business relationships and knowledge vital to the success of the project or portfolio

  • Initiating - Assist the requestor on the work intake process for non-strategic initiatives

  • Project Budget - Assists in the development of financial projections through schedule development and resource forecasting. Verifies that team members are properly tracking time against tasks. Works directly with resources to get updates escalating only when necessary

  • Project Schedule Management - Working with the Subject Matter Experts develops the Work Breakdown Structure. Develops a simplified project schedule for resource management and capacity tracking

  • Resource Management - Work with resource managers to develop, refine, and maintain accurate workload allocation thresholds   Investigate the customer need/request, and determine the functional area resource impact preparing impact statements as needed

  • Standards Development - Assists in the development and improvement of standardized processes for analysis, reporting and tracking.  Adopts and adheres to the standards.    May tailor standards for specific initiatives with approval.

  • Coaching, Mentoring and Training - Train non-project managers on portfolio management tools, standards, and best practices

  • Tool Support - Provide technical support on portfolio, program, project and resource management tools and standards

  • Metrics and Reporting - updates MSPO to track project details related to the project schedules and resource allocations for detailed portfolio and demand/capacity reporting.  Collaborates with management on gathering requirements, designing and testing portfolio reports.  Develops, analyzes and presents customized portfolio presentations that depicts the portfolio health to executives

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Information Technology, or Healthcare or 5 years like experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the following:

    • Information Technology Portfolio Analysis or Coordination

    • Situational thinking – utilizing analytical, creative, implicative, strategic and tactical thinking techniques based on the scenario

    • Working in a team-oriented, collaborative, matrix environment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to help stakeholders articulate needs

  • Ability to take in a wide range of information, from multiple sources and pinpoint key insights, identify root cause, determine potential options and impacts and provide recommendations

  • Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure and work estimates working with the resource managers, subject matter experts and vendors

  • Exhibit an appropriate sense of urgency, ownership and focus as it relates to customer satisfaction, delivery, or issues that might arise

Job Summary:

The IT Portfolio Analyst will work directly with resource managers, program managers and project managers to ensure resources are optimally allocated within a respective AIT business area. The primary responsibilities of the role are to work with the managers to identify the work requirements (demand) and the capacity and capability available.  As work is defined they will assist in the setup of project schedules, defining the tasks/activities, assigning resources and then assist resource managers on tracking actuals vs plan.  They will then provide trending reports for the resource managers identifying changes in resource capacity by work type.  The Portfolio Analyst will also work directly with the resources and resource managers to ensure they have the proper tasks assigned and they are tracking their progress accurately each week.  They will work closely with the functional area’s VP on reprioritization of work, escalation of resource constraints and verify resource allocations for non-strategic initiatives and projects.
