You Will Be Responsible For:

•              Creates a strategic and operational department plan to achieve themission and visionof the department.  Understands the hospitalgoals and objectivesand develops a department plan, complete with short and long term objectives.

•Responsible for developing and maintaining departmental and operationalbudgets.  Maintains financial records and expenditures for staffing, supplies, and equipment.

•Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with vendors and related organizations.

•Provides direction for management personnel to maintain, repair, calibrate, inspect and clean the buildings and equipment.

•Oversees all Construction Projects. 

•Establishes and communicates departmental support for thestrategic planand mission of AdventHealth Waterman. 

•Coordinates and participates in strategic planning with Administration to propose, plan and execute institutional facility renovation and replacement projects in accordance with AdventHealth Waterman’s long term facilities plan, and the needs and service objectives for the various hospital departments.

•Allocates resources to sustain or achievequalityservices.  Assist employees in enhancing quality efforts within the objectives of the organization.  Provides time to assess, analyze and improve quality including data collection, participation in quality teams and facilitation or leadership of teams.

•Maintains compliance with regulatory controls, including OSHA, TJC, AHCA standards and regulations, applicable building codes, and permitting processes.

•Develop and administer policies and procedures according to AHCA, TJC and AH Waterman guidelines. Review and revise these as needed to meet trends in patient services and any other regulatory body requirements.

•Directs and manages the Environment of Care functions.

•Determines priorities for repair, maintenance activities and construction/renovation projects to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness.

•Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction and prudent resource management.

•Responsible for Life Safety plan of the hospital and it’s execution including oversight of the hospital safety committee and collaboration.

•Responsible for the safety and security of hospital and offsite buildings.





Qualifications

What You Will Need:

•Bachelor’s Degree

•Five years Management experience in Health Care Facility or like Industry organization which is regulated by State and Federal law.

•Demonstrates the ability to read blueprints and any other type of technical drawings or literature

•Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of how to access Federal, State, and local standards and requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies: standards of operation for plant operations; work standards for skilled personnel; and material and equipment suppliers

  • CHE, CHFM, or CHSP Preferred
  • Master's Degree Preferred


Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Vice President/Chief Operations Officer provides direction, support and guidance to the Plant / Facilities Engineering / Clinical Engineering / Security / Courtesy Drivers / Valet / and Grounds.  Develops policy and procedures and ensures all activities comply with hospital standards for the Environment of Care.  Maintains all budget levels for his/her Department. Insures proper work and departmental productivity, adjusting staffing levels as required. Performs duties of Hospital Safety Officer.  Brings ideas, concerns and issues to the attention of the Vice President/Chief Operations Officer and acts as a liaison for the department.
