Job Description

More than 500 board-certified physicians, 200+ Advanced Practice Providers, and 1,500 clinical and support staff in over 40 specialties provide patients with a broad range of medical and surgical services. Director of Practice Operations
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Practice Operations is responsible for the overall operational success of his/her assigned medical practices.  Provides strategic leadership and direction utilizing the tools that have been provided, including the coordination of all practice activities except those directly involving professional medical judgment. Works in collaboration with Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG) corporate support departments and Florida Hospital (FH) to meet the needs of the assigned practices and maintain efficient operations. Position requires a high degree of independence, initiative, judgment, and follow-through on a wide range of sensitive and complex issues. 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build Relationships and Communicate Strategies and Policies of FHMG by delivering timely communications on company strategies, policies, and rationale for decisions.
  • Strategy and Mission Development: Collaborate with Physician Leaders to develop and implement strategic growth plans.  Actively involved in engaging physicians through the FHMG Operational Governance model, through implementation directed by the Network Operation Council (NOC).  Assists in the creation and implementation of Action Plans developed in collaboration with Providers in their Practice Operations Council.
  • Finance and Revenue Cycle: Analyze financial and revenue cycle reports to provide physicians and advanced practitioners with understanding of key practice data.  Director is accountable for the overall financial performance of the practices they oversee.
  • Team Development: Actively coach and mentor Office Managers and Staff in order to achieve optimal engagement
  • Patient Experience: Enliven patient experience by collaborating with practices on key indicators that drive high patient satisfaction
  • Clinical/Operations: Ensure that the clinical standards of FHMG are being tracked and performed at the practice site level
  • Results and Production: Responsible for achieving overall results for each of their practices (Employee engagement, Physician engagement, patient experience, financial performance, market growth) 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical technology and terminology
  • Experience in finance and accounting skills with regards to the oversight of a departmental budget.
  • Data analysis and critical thinking
  • Exceptional organizational skills as demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with members of multiple teams
  • Highly professional with excellent customer service skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
  • 5 years of healthcare management experience
