PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM: 

At Adventist University of Health Sciences (ADU), our primary customers are students, faculty, staff and patients. Our partners are physicians, allied health clinicians, and other employees of Florida Hospital.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Graduate Campus Adjunct – PA - Certified Per Diem teaches didactic course offered on campus to graduate students.  Graduate Campus Adjunct develops, designs and delivers instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator. Reviews and assists with revision as needed for department policies and procedures.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to work in face-to-face and online teaching environment

• Knowledge of computer based academic delivery systems

• Ability to work with an ethnically diverse student body

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

• None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Three years of clinical experience

• Master's Degree from a Physician Assistant Program

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Experience teaching at the graduate level.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Certification (NCCPA)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

• None

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the “Four Words” Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship.

• Teaches in both the didactic and clinical phases of the Masters of Science Physician Assistant Program - MSPAS curriculum.

• Participates in the development and implementation of new instructional experiences.

• Develops individualized learning objectives.

• Develops competencies required for the successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE). 

• Performs as a small-group facilitator.

• Grades examinations and assignments and reviews evaluations with students.

• Reviews and assists with revisions as needed for department policies and procedures.

• Continues to develop as a faculty member of the college through advanced studies, research and writing.
